Obituary

Ruth M. Littig, age 71, of Meadowbrook, passed away on January 21, 2012. She was born on August 27, 1941 at Misericordia Hospital in Philadelphia. Her father, John Fritz, a carpenter who immigrated to Philadelphia from Germany, met his beloved wife Anna C. Rothermel in Philadelphia during the 1920s. The loving marriage also produced a sister, Anne Hemberger, who currently resides with her husband, Bob, in Bucks County. Ruth graduated Olney High School in 1958 and married her high school sweetheart, Albert C. Littig, on July 29, 1961. They transplanted from Philadelphia to Meadowbrook in 1970 when they found a perfect home on a quiet and friendly street. Along her way she had three happy children - Ronald C. Littig of Sterling, Virginia, Audrey Littig of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Scott Littig of Richboro, Pennsylvania. She has four grandchildren that she loves very much. Two grandchildren, Chase and Gia, are from Scott and his wife, Maria and two more grandchildren, Austin and Kaitlyn, from Audrey and her husband, Greg. In 1985, Ruth began a career in real estate which spanned almost 30 years. Ruth loved being a Realtor. She did not sell homes; she helped people find places they wanted to call home. She was a member of the Rydal-Meadowbrook Association for many years and cherished all of the relationships, personal and professional, that she developed throughout her career. Ruth's other loves were spending time in Ocean City and St. Maarten, reading, happy hour with lifelong friends and keeping up with her toy-toting dog, Snowy. She loved listening to her grandchildren talk about their experiences and ideas. Gardening was also very important and beautiful fresh flowers were always to be found at home or brought to the home of others. Ruth was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother who will be forever remembered and celebrated by her family. A memorial service was held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Gloria Dei Church in Huntingdon Valley.
