Penelope Lee "Penny" age 93, of Elkins Park died on December 28, 2017. She was the daughter of the late George G. Geikler, Jr and the late Emilie (Wells) Geikler. Penny was born in Philadelphia and lived in Elkins Park, was a longtime member of the Abington Baptist Church. She graduated from Cheltenham High School ('42), where she was a dedicated CHS Field Hockey Team player. Penny remained active throughout her life, a dog lover she raised and showed her beloved German Sheppards. She was an avid gardener, who loved nature, horticulture and painting. She was an especially proud to be a longtime board member of the Cheltenham Twinning Committee. Above all, Penny was a devoted and loving daughter and friend. Always gracious, friends were family and she was especially kind to her friends' children and grandchildren all of whom will remember and miss her sense of humor and infectious laugh. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 7, 2018, West Laurel Hill Cemetery, 215 Belmont Avenue, Bala Cynwyd.
