Laura Reeves Lafferty, 79, passed away suddenly on July 16, 2026.

Born in Abington, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of R. Norman Reeves and Maude Grey Reeves. Laura attended Abington Friends School, Harcum Junior College, and graduated from American University with a degree in English Literature.

She married Donald Lafferty, and they shared 39 years of marriage until his passing in 2013. Together they had one daughter, Leslie Lafferty Filippi, married to Samuel Filippi, and four grandchildren: Isabella, Giavanna, Violetta, and Samuel Jr. Her grandchildren were her greatest joys.

In additon to her daughter and grandchilden, Laura is also survived by her siblings: Karin Reeves Peek, Cristy Reeves Robertson and Robert N. Reeves, Jr. (Jean).  Additionally, she is survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sister Greylin Reeves Goodson.

A lifelong member of Abington Presbyterian Church, Laura always made caring visits to friends, family, and parishioners.  She also never missed an opportunity to send a greeting card for any occasion.

She loved traveling to Williamsburg, Virginia with her husband Don, cross stitch, butterflies, cats, romance novels, uninterrupted sleep, and her cozy chair.
