Joyce Kauffman (née Bungeroth), age 74, a resident of Rydal, PA died on February 19, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Joyce was the daughter of the late William Bungeroth and the late Florence Sheel Bungeroth. Joyce taught for 35 years before she retired in 1998 from the Council Rock School District. Her excellence in teaching was easy to see. Countless times, Joyce was recognized by former students who would be eager to share fond memories and thank her for the impact she had. She was a talented artist, gardener and baker of chocolate chip cookies. Joyce is survived by her beloved husband Wayne Kauffman; step-daughters and their spouses, Dana Gehring (Barry) and Amy Ryzner (Ken) and adored grandchildren, Trevor, Jaclyn, Cooper, Lucas, Dashiell, and Griffin. Relatives and friends will be received on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 7:00 -8:30 PM, Helweg & Rowland Funeral Home. 1059 Old York Road, Abington. Interment in Hillside Cemetery will be private.
