John Aden
Albright
Mar 25, 1938 — Aug 12, 2026
John Aden Albright, age 88, passed away on August 12, 2026 at his home in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania.
He was predeceased by his wife Marion "Tish" Albright, his parents, Roy and M. Iris Albright, and by his sister Elaine Stapleford.
He is survived by daughters Katherine "Katie" Albright and Leslie Albright, and his grandchildren Dylan and Juliette Franznick who knew him as "Pappy." He is deeply missed by sons-in-law Michael Sahyun and Timothy Franznick, and his nephew Jimmy and niece Jan.
John was born March 25, 1938 in Newtown, Pennsylvania and graduated from Council Rock High School in 1956. He attended the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art (recently the now-closed University of the Arts) and had a long career as an artist alongside his wife, Tish, painting murals, signage, still lifes and faux finishes for residences and businesses all over the world, including the 1964 World's Fair. He created several personal works of art in the trompe l'oeil style, and exhibited at galleries in the Philadelphia and New York area.
He was well known in the Jenkintown community through his children's and grandchildren's activities in the grade and high schools, as well as his participation in Jenkintown Music Theater in the 1980s, singing and dancing and painting scenery.
He was a member of the Delaware Valley Fern and Wildflower Society and painted the backdrops for their displays at the Philadelphia Flower Show for several years. He loved his family, friends, grand-dogs Finley and Ruby, and his garden.
All who knew him noted what a gentle and kind soul he was, talented not only in his artwork, but in cooking and gardening too. He will be greatly missed.
