Herta Marie Lindner Kaser, age 84, of the Somerton section of Northeast Philadelphia, died on October 24, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Max X. Kaser for 58 years.
Born in Wettern, Bohemia, now known as Czechoslovakia, Herta, her parents and her siblings were displaced during World War II to a suburb of Munich, Germany. Herta met the love of her life, Max Kaser, at a party at his home in Munich while on leave from the US Air Force. After one year of correspondence, Max proposed and they were married in April of 1958. Herta immigrated to the United States, where she and Max made Philadelphia their life-long home.
Herta was a devoted wife, mother and Omi. Herta enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting and crocheting, but most importantly, spending time with her beloved family.
In addition to her husband, Herta is survived by her loving children; Brigitte Strain, Frank and Carol Kaser, Denise and Bob Mervine, Corina and Frank Hubmaster, her eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
