Eleanor May Miller, age 97, a resident of Tampa, FL and Philadelphia, PA died on March 29, 2015. She was the devoted wife, and childhood sweet-heart, of. William Thomas Miller for 65 years until his death in 2002. They had one daughter Marilyn Jean Miller Kulp, wife of the late Louis Fisher Kulp.
Born on August 14, 1917 in Philadelphia, PA. She was the daughter of the late Charles Walters Hasher and the late Martha Ann Leslie Haigh Hasher.
In previous years, while living in Pennsylvania she was very active with the youth, serving as chairman of the Ways & Means Committee of the PTA, a Girl Scout Leader and active on various committees at the Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church and the Northwoods Community Association. She is retired from the Abington Associations and the Association for Multimedia International, Inc., being employed as their bookkeeper for many years. May and Bill traveled throughout the United States and Europe. They also enjoyed camping in their RV. She graduated from the University of South Florida's Senior Computer Program. Prior to her failing vision, her hobbies and interests included the computer (email), crafts of many types, one-stroke painting, crocheting, sewing, games, as well as attending various social activities and sporting events (especially the MLB -- Phillies and Devil Rays).
In addition to her daughter, she is survived by her dear grandchildren and their spouses: William Scott Kulp and wife Stephanie Lynne Nichols Kulp and June Marie Kulp Cook and husband David Duane Cook and by her great-grandchildren: Victoria Ivy Kulp, William Thomas Kulp, Adam David Cook and Eric Louis Cook. She was preceded in death by her brother James Haigh Hasher.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 4, 2015, Helweg & Rowland Funeral Home, 1059 Old York Road,
Abington, where friends will be received from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Whitemarsh
