Carole Louise Baron Zacharias, age 72, of Fort Washington, PA died on June 15, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Tismar and the late Louise Jockers Beck Tismar. Carole graduated from Cheltenham High School in 1962. She later earned her Associates in Science degree from Manor College and her Bachelor's degree from Gwynedd Mercy College. She was a long-time employee of Abington Memorial Hospital (now Abington Hospital Jefferson Health). She began her career as a Unit Secretary, working her way up to Director of Medical Records. After 35 years of service, she retired in 2008 as an Information Systems Analyst. Carole was a former member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), the Pennsylvania Health Information Management Association (PHIMA) and the Lehigh Valley Health Information Management Association (LVHIMA), where she served as President and Secretary. She was a member for over 50 years of the Grace Presbyterian Church, serving as an Elder, Deacon, Former Chair of the Women's Association, and on the Property Committee. She was a resident of Ft. Washington Estates where she recently served as President of the Residents Association. She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law: Joanne L. and David A. Torrillo; and by two grandchildren, Nicole L. Torrillo and Anthony J. Torrillo. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 24, 2017, Grace Presbyterian Church, 444 York Road, Jenkintown, where friends will be received from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery.
