Beverly M. Forbes, age 91, a resident of Jenkintown, PA for the past 54 years and formerly of Abington, PA passed away, at her home, on June 1, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Arthur C. Forbes for more than 70 years. Born in Corning, NY, she was the daughter of the late Eleanor Bush. She graduated from Corning High School in 1937. Beverly was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker and grandmother. After raising her family, she earned her degree in Gerontology from Montgomery County Community College in 1984. She was a former member of Abington Presbyterian Church. Beverly enjoyed reading, writing, Broadway musicals and above all, spending time with her family. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her loving children and their spouses: Arthur, Jr. and Lynn Forbes, Kathryn E. and Robert Moore, John D. Forbes, Joan M. and Brian Lureen and James M. and Terry Forbes and by 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and by a great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Douglas G. and Marge Forbes and by her grandson, Ryan P. Mahoney. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Helweg & Rowland Funeral Home, 1059 Old York Road, Abington and to attend the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery.
