August C. "Gus" Essmann, age 95, of Melrose Park died on July 16, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Emma M. (nee Schick) and the proud and loving father of Jayne M. Essmann. He is also survived by his dear sister, Bette Root and by his nephew, Edwin Root. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, St. John's Lutheran Church, 1224 Melrose Avenue, Melrose Park, PA 19027, where friends will be received from 10:00 until the time of the service. Interment will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
