Alexander Victor Jiwanmall went to his eternal home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 27, 2026.
Alexander was born on April 3, 1952, in the city of Gujranwala, Pakistan, to his loving parents, Archibald Jiwanmall and Iris Jiwanmall. He was their fourth child among nine children. From an early age, he displayed a great zeal for teaching and used to help his fellow classmates. His passion for learning, led him to the University of Punjab, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Science, setting the foundation for a lifelong dedication to education and community service.
In his professional life, he found his calling as a science teacher at Saint Joseph English High School in Gujranwala, where he inspired and educated countless young minds for 25 years. He had God gifted talent to make learning an enjoyable experience for his students. His commitment to nurture the potential in each of his students was truly unique and unmatched.
In 1980, he married the love of his life, Victoria (Guddy), on May 9. Together, they created a warm and God loving home; where they raised four children: Tabitha, Sabeeta, Shimroon, and Anita. Their home was a haven of faith, laughter, learning, kindness and respect. They made sure to instill the boldness of faith into their children and grandchildren. His family was his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment he spent with them.Over the years, Alexander and Victoria's family grew to include three sons in law Nasir, Subas, Rimoon, one daughter in law Mahrish and nine grandchildren—Eliza, Alexandra, Zachariah, Jeremiah, Aaron, Ariana, Gabriel, Avery, and Brielle—each of whom brought immense joy and pride to their grandparents.
In 2001, Alexander and his family immigrated to the United States, where he continued his career as a manager at Sunoco A Plus in Philadelphia for two decades. Throughout his career, he was celebrated for his work ethic, leadership and joy he brought to those around him.
A man of deep faith, Alexander served as an Elder in Swift Memorial Presbyterian Church in Gujranwala and later in the Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia. His dedication to his faith and community was unwavering.
He was known for his discipline, jolly nature, bright smiles, and incredible sense of humor. His ability to touch lives and spread joy was a gift he generously shared.
Alexander is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Victoria, their four children, their spouses, and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers, three sisters and their families. Alexander's legacy is one of faith, love, learning, and laughter. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
